Principles

Delta Lake was founded with the intention of creating a better option for business owners looking to sell their companies. Having spent our careers in corporate private equity environments, we wanted to create a better model for owners of community-oriented businesses to leave their customers and employees in good hands.

The principles below are the core tenets on which we pride ourselves, and where we will never compromise.

I. Customers, employees, and communities always come first

+
We want our customers to be overjoyed about the level of service they receive, because our businesses depend on customers putting their trust in us.

We want our employees to feel valued and respected, to be satisfied by the work they are doing, and to provide opportunities for them to spend their entire careers at our companies.

Our companies will always invest both their time and money back into their local communities, in service of the families and institutions that allow our companies to thrive.

II. Servant leadership means doing the work that others will not

+
The founders of Delta Lake have always believed in the idea of doing the work and doing it well. "The work" refers to the ongoing tasks and duties necessary for our communities to prosper which have been deemed by most to be too tedious, difficult, or complex.

To do the work of operating great businesses well is no simple task. Delta Lake is constantly thinking about how to improve the quality of our companies' service offerings, how to provide those services to more customers, and how to maintain the ethos and legacy of the companies we acquire.

III. Entrepreneurship is the bedrock of the American Dream

+
Entrepreneurship, especially the entrepreneurial spirit involved in building local businesses, is what has made America the best country in the world for many decades now.

At Delta Lake, we want to give folks the opportunity to build and grow those great American businesses, whether those are our own employees looking to step into leadership positions, or folks coming from corporate America (or elsewhere) who are looking for a more entrepreneurial, community-based way of life.
